Though Cambodia’s prime attraction is of course Angkor Wat-The 12th-century temples in Cambodia, stand as astonishing remnants of the powerful Khmer Empire that once ruled Southeast Asia. The Cambodian people, the Tonle Sap Lake are also very attractive and friendly places as well. Even Phnom Penh, after recent renovations and a paint job is looking pretty good these days.

Banteay Srei is 35km northeast of the main cluster of temples.
It was built in the second half of the tenth century. Although small, the carvings are exquisite.
